One Leg Drill Improves Rotation

  • This is a drill that I think will help you understand the concept of playing on one leg.
  • As a right-handed player: If you put your left foot behind your right calf, and you hit some balls off the matt, or just do some swings, you really get the feeling of how this position allows you to rotate your pelvis, and stay centered as you do it.
  • This is opposed to having two feet on the ground – as with both legs on the ground you invariably see people bringing their body all the way over to the right, or bending their left side forward – because it’s difficult for them to organise on two legs.
